Planning for Global Donut Days 2025
Global Donut Days on 14 to 17 October this year is to celebrate and inspire local action and global connection based on Doughnut Economics. What will we do in Brisbane?
Global Donut Days 2025 is a four-day, community-led festival, held online and in-person around the world, centred on Doughnut Economics, happening 14-17 October 2025.
Last year, Global Donut Days saw participation in over 30 countries, over 80 places, through over 100 events and with more than four thousand people across four days.
In 2023,
held a workshop on Doughnut Economics and how it fits in the context of local actions like verge gardening. See the story below. In November 2024, we’d formed
and held an international zoom event for GDD2024. See the video and transcripts here.Plans for GDD 2025
We’re in the early planning stages for 2025. How might we come together to explore the ideas of Doughnut Economics? And how we can connect local action with global ideas and connections across sectors and disciplines to help create a more sustainable Greater Brisbane region? How can we get those ideas out into public conversations.
On 15th June, 2025 we’ll be meeting with
and others in our growing collaborative network to explore options and opportunities. If you’d like to join us, please RSVP here. If you’d like to be involved in the GDD in any way, please comment below. What we do, and how much we do will depend on the diversity and involvement of people in our wider network.
