Notes from 19th July
On Friday, we confirmed the structure of Regen Brisbane - as a loose network, not an organisation - and how the way we use Substack reflects this.
There is a small core of Regen Brisbane specific content (like this post) on the Regen Brisbane Substack. Members of the network have the option to post on their own Substacks and then cross-post relevant posts to Regen Brisbane. That means people retain ownership and control of their work but it will be like a hub to bring it all together and create something bigger. It should be a win in every direction.
These networked or virtual organisations provide many opportunities for creativity and innovation but they also require trust and discipline to hold them together.
You can see the current Regen Brisbane team on the About page on the desktop version or by clicking the People tab if you are reading on the app. Follow the link to each person’s profile to find out more about them. Some have already started a Substack. Saskya and Ryan have both written their first posts about why they are here.
See how these posts have been linked together while remaining under the banners of their authors. Substack is made for networks and collaborations.
Of course, the technology is the first step and this platform is easier than most. Working out what you are going to write about, writing it, and maintaining momentum is harder but we can all support, encourage, and inspire each other. As we get to know each other and how our interests align, more opportunities will emerge.
Takeaway tasks
If you haven’t already done so, please create your profile on Substack including a link to your website, LinkedIn, etc. This is the page people will see if they follow the link when you like or comment, as well as if you go on to publish your own articles on Substack.
See this page on my general Substack if you need help with that.
