This is a work in progress to see if we can form an active Regen Brisbane network, using this Substack platform to support it. We’re starting with 11 subscribers and 27 followers.
(This is my suggested plan of action - I am open to suggestions.)
Regen Brisbane is an informal, loose network
My view of Regen Brisbane is as a hub. There doesn’t need to be a formal organisation and all that entails - none of us have the time for that.
People can come together here for discussion and ideas will emerge for them to form collaborations to do projects under their own banners, using their own resources - much like the diagram below from Strategic Doing. This is the way I work with the Shady Lanes Project.
We’ll use Substack because it’s free and its platform is designed for networks.
I’d aim to have a core group of 3 to 7 people who are committed to guiding the network. This group may change and evolve over time. They can all can be contributors and admins of this substack. No ownership, no hierarchy.
Around that we’d have people who want to be involved at various levels of commitment.
First, we maintain a safe space for conversations
That can be here on this Substack, Zoom meetings, in-person meetings and events. Be civil, be curious, be kind.
Then, we find a shared purpose
something like this…
What if we can bring diverse people from many sectors and disciplines together in an open network to hold productive conversations about what a sustainable Brisbane region might look like, and how various participants might form collaborations and run projects to help us get there. We will operate using the principles of Doughnut Economics and Strategic Doing.
Participants & Assets
Please use the chat or the comments to introduce yourself and say why you are here, and what you are hoping for. If you decide that you want to become more actively involved, we’ll set you up as a Substack contributor and you can have your own page under participants.
From there, we’ll see how it evolves. If the interest is there, I’ll arrange a zoom meeting next week.
More on the levels of participation. How involved would you want to be? https://regenbrisbane.substack.com/p/three-levels-of-participants
As we are in Noosa it is harder to participate in Brisbane actions but…….🤷🏾♀️
