A reminder of Friday 21st June 2024 - Zoom 2:30pm please register here.
Building on our meeting two weeks ago (review here) and our takeaway tasks (also listed below), we’ll look at what we could do by combining the assets and resources available to us. What’s doable? And what has the most impact for the resources involved?
Takeaway tasks from last meeting:
Consider whether you want to be part of the core group (committed), mid-group (actively supportive) or outer group (interested) and what assets you are able and willing to offer. Boundaries are permeable, and people can move in and out as their priorities and circumstances change.
Review our shared purpose
Become familiar with the various platforms
Substack - our main platform
Build habits of taking part in conversations even if it’s just a supportive like
Consider setting up your own Substack
Outcome of last week's Casual Coffee meetup
We had good coffee, wide-ranging conversations, and shared lots of information and stories. For some, this was the first time they’d met face-to-face.
We’ll decide at the Zoom this Friday whether to do Casual Coffees on the alternating weeks and whether to vary the days and venues.

So pleased you all enjoyed your coffee catch up. I was sad to miss it. I'll also miss the next zoom meeting as I'll be working. Have a lovely week 😁
Coffee morning was interesting. Thank you for "The Nest" information. I called in on the way home and bought some wool. I didn't dare look at the fabric. I should probably be contributing rather than buying!
On Saturday I went to the Dr John Sinclair Memorial Lecture given by Dr Bob Brown. It was very powerful and a testament to what dedicated individuals can achieve when they inspire the support of others. It was almost like being at an ACF Northside meeting when he focussed on sustainability, materialism, the corporate push for growth and the inequality lobbying power of business over environmental concerns. When questioned on what can we do, he replied "Do your best but also have fun. Keep being optimistic, being depressed doesn't work".
